01 / the meeting

I invited my client to share his ideas, vision, goals, and specific requirements. To deliver the best results, I make sure I have a clear understanding of their target audience, brand personality, core values, and competitive landscape.

I met my client at a coffee shop. Since we hadn’t met before, I started by introducing myself and having a bit of small talk to break the ice and create a relaxed atmosphere. After that, I presented a prepared questionnaire to better understand his needs and expectations.

02 / research

After receiving the client’s brief, I begin the research phase. This involves analysing the business background, understanding the target audience, and reviewing competitors to identify opportunities for differentiation. I also define the key message the logo should convey. At this stage, establishing a clear timeline and agreed budget is crucial to keep the project structured and on track.

For this project, the client did not have a specific timeline, as he had initially tried to design it himself but was not satisfied with the results. This gave me the flexibility and time needed to develop a completely new and improved concept.

03 / trends

I created a mood board to give my client a clear visual direction of the concept I had in mind. I selected four different colour palettes, along with examples of logos from similar service-based brands and relevant background elements to help communicate the overall style.

I prefer using my iPad to present visuals to the client, as it allows us to review a large amount of material quickly and in a more professional and organised way.

04 / results

In this case, the client required a refresh of both his logo and website. We first focused on finalising the logo design, and once that was approved, we moved on to developing the website.

Once the client approved the logo, I make sure it works seamlessly and accurately. I defined Pantone, CMYK, and RGB colour formats. I  provided him a basic brand guideline document that outlines the logo variations (including the icon), clear space requirements, approved color codes, typography choices with alternative fonts., also the minimum size specifications to ensure consistent use across all platforms.
